DAIJIRO KATO: Australian 250cc GP Champion - 2001
Eurosport would like to express their most heartfelt commiserations to the Kato family.
MotoGP's circuit doctor, Dr Costa, expressed his grief with a brief note on the Clinica Mobile website:
"Very sad news have just arrived from Japan. If our young Japanese decided to listen to the voice of angels and enter the valley of light, choosing to abandon this world, he chose to do it in the most emblematic night for man, the night of Easter and of Resurrection.
"There aren't enough tears to express our sadness, and no adequate words except the words of poetry."
